Grants

  • Bushfire appeal grants- click here for information or call 1800 180 213 to lodge your claim. Up to 2000 rural landowners affected by the 2009 bushfires may be eligible to receive a one-off payment of $5,000 from the Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund.
  • Grants of $1000 to bushfire affected sporting groups for sports equipment- click here
  • Forest Industries Community Disaster Relief Fund- information here. Details here

  • If unsuccessful or for issues associated with insurance claims, help is available through the Bushfire Legal Help Line- 1800 113 432. Fact sheets are also available from their website- see Links page. The financial ombudsman may also be able to help- phone 1800 337 444. 

Accomodation

  • Caravan available- 2 year old fully furnished, 2 bedroom, bathroom, Jayco Cabin completely undamaged from the fire, located at Marysville Caravan Park. We have been told that we will have to relocate from the park. If anyone is interested in buying this relocatable cabin from us please contact me on 0439 326 529 or 9741 9594.     1 WC and shower unit
    1 smaller unit for vet care


    We are working with the schwartz foundation.these units are avalible to you free of charge for a period of 12 months or even longer if they need it to be The units are in NSW and we will do our best to have them delivered, we might need help to da that. We will also fill the units with bedding and funiture.

    Linfox have advised that some 90 truckloads of goods are available for Triangle residents affected by the bushfires. Food, toiletries, clothing, home wares, furniture, household appliances, cots and strollers are just some of the good available at their Clayton centre. Call Samantha on 0402097097 for details. He has contacted HITACHI POWER TOOLS and they have agreed to give a group discount to those who have lost power tools in the fire.     Thanks to Dymocks Books and assorted publisers in Adelaide we have around 20 boxes of books available.

    There are multiple copies of The Celebutants on the Avenue"", by Antonio Pagliarulo, a novel suitable for women readers. There are multiple copies of "The Appeal"by John Grisham, and a wide range of other titles. We actually don't know what is in most of the boxes, but the there is at least one box of children's books. There is even one diary if anyone needs it.

  • My name is Lisa Cann and I am a former resident of Buxton (many years ago). My husband and I have a Property Valuation business in partnership with Geoff Pope (who lost a number of shops in Marysville), my husband Darrell also lived in Marysville and was at Marysville Primary in the late 1970's
  • For the past 10 years we have done many property valuations in the Triangle area and we would be happy to supply people with photos that we might have taken of their house and also some information on what might have been there - we have building sizes, room names, ancillaries, building materials noted etc. I'm not sure how people may use this information, it may be useful for insurance claims or for memories!
